About David Broza.

David Broza is an internationally renowned Israeli singer-songwriter, recognized for his dynamic guitar performances and humanitarian efforts. His signature sound brings together the influence of Spanish flamenco, American folk, rock and roll, and poetry. Social justice and peace advocacy are embedded in Broza’s work; his 1977 hit song “Yihye Tov” remains an Israeli peace anthem. With over 40 albums released, many of which are multiplatinum, in English, Hebrew, and Spanish, Broza continues to tour globally both as a solo musician and with his various musical projects.

Broza was born in Haifa, Israel and spent his teenage years in Spain and the UK. After returning to Israel, Broza started his musical career at age 22. His travels have contributed to his international sound and commitment to human connection, story-telling, and equality.

At the core of his social justice work is the belief that music is a platform for dialogue and tolerance. His 2013 album East Jerusalem, West Jerusalem received widespread acclaim alongside a documentary of the same name which streamed on Netflix for 3 years.  The album, produced by Grammy-award winners Steve Earle and Steve Greenberg, was recorded entirely in the Palestinian Sabreen studio in East Jerusalem, featuring both Israeli and Palestinian musicians.

He is the founder of the non-profit One Million Guitars, which gives underprivileged schoolchildren around the world hand-crafted guitars and the foundation of a musical education.

About Our Founders and Visionaries, Noach and Orna Braun.

The Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind (IGDCB) began as a dream of a young paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). A lifelong animal lover, Noach Braun trained dogs in the IDF for military purposes and his wife, Orna, was brought up on Kibbutz Kabri, where the two met.

When Noach left the military, he dreamed of continuing to work with animals—but only for man’s greater good. To his surprise, Noach discovered that there was no guide dog school in Israel. Noach and Orna made it their life’s mission to establish a guide dog school in Israel. So all blind or visually impaired Israelis could obtain the mobility, independence and companionship that only a guide dog can provide.

Because of Noach and Orna’s persistence and vision, Israelis with visual impairments- and now hose living with disabilities and mental illnesses- can live a life of independence knowing that we are there to support them.

About The Israel Guide Dog Center.

The Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind is dedicated to improving the quality of life of visually impaired Israelis. We provide them with mobility, independence, self-confidence and companionship through the faithful assistance of guide dogs specially trained in Hebrew to meet Israel’s rigorous and challenging environment. Founded in 1991, the Israel Guide Dog Center serves Israel’s 24,000 blind and visually impaired citizens and is the only internationally accredited guide dog program in the country.

For over 30 years, we have provided expertly-trained guide dogs for blind Israelis, PTSD service dogs specially trained for IDF veterans with PTSD, and emotional support dogs for children with disabilities. Our dogs are provided for, free of charge, because of donors like you.

The current moment has compelled us to adjust the criteria for our recipients and we are now providing emotional support dogs to Israelis traumatized by war.

Since 1991, the Israel Guide Dog Center has been creating these life-changing relationships with the help of an extraordinary network of staff, trainers, puppy raisers, volunteers and donors. Literally, thousands of people from around the world have joined with us to create miracles for blind Israelis.
